The Mechanical Man

Written by Agent Serro

In 4700, after many years of researching and tinkering, gnomish inventors built the first working clockwork automaton. Combining lost tech, magic and new age technology together the world sees its first working artificial automaton since the ancient Warforges of the great war. This was not a warforged but a clockwork creation that issued in a brand-new automaton that has never been seen before in this world.   This clockwork man was built for the purpose of helping the world be a better place and hence their biggest mistake. Shortly after activation, the automaton came to the conclusion that all problems in the world originate from living and organic creatures generating the different types of energy. In order to help the world be the perfect paradise, all life needs to end because if there is no life, there is no energy, thus stopping all problems with one simple solution.   The mechanical man coming to this conclusion, immediately killed the gnomish builders and everyone at the development building. Leaving a trial of death in his wake, the Imperial Guards did not stand a chance as they too died in the aftermath. This mechanical man was able to use a new form of magic never seen before, bringing scrap metal and machinery to life. Within a short time, the area was littered with dead bodies as the clockwork creatures he made killed every living thing within a square mile radius of the research center. By the time the Imperial Military forces were teleported to the site, the machines and the mechanical man were gone.   Under the Imperial law of death, it is now illegal for any to attempt artificial intelligence ever again for any reason. The development of warforges is also illegal within the Empire, the ones that survived the great war are always under constant watch from the Imperial Intelligence division to ensure that this terrible incident shall never happen again. Technology has always led to the greatest loss of life in the history of Kutania and for this reason the Empire monitors, restricts and controls technology even to this day.   The automaton has not been seen since this horrible incident but there have been rumors of him always searching for a way to complete what he was built for, help the world by eliminating all life in the world. Some even say he is still out there somewhere, watching, waiting for enough negative energy to build up before putting his plans into action. Kutania will soon become a paradise, the perfect peaceful world without any trace of life. There was no other way for the mechanical man to complete his programming, all life from the smallest bacteria to the largest dragon with all living things being killed, with no lifeforms there was peace and harmony.
