Session 21: The Vault Report

General Summary

The party found out about the electrical floor trap, Ryn and Talen went into the vault, looked at some other items and noticed a same rune underneath one of them, Didn't see it under the wand which exploded with a glyph of warding doing lightning damage and animating some constructs in the process as well as causing the door to start closing. Ryn and Talen both made it out of the vault by the skin of their teeth. With a wand in hand. They split up as the guards were approaching and managed to all make it back to The Forked Tongue, despite traversing the roofs of White Haven as a bear. The group went to sleep in their rooms and the next morning found the wand sitting in the middle of the floor, not where Ryn had left it. Fade arrived to tell the party that they had screwed up. The wand they had, though it appeared magical, was not the correct one. Not only that but the ladies of The Dark Hand had found out that this was the incorrect wand, went back to the house and taken the correct wand. Fade still wanted them to finish the job, get the wand. The group agreed and then spent the day doing other things, planning on confronting the women that night. Thalos learned that they were at The Laughing Harpy and they all seemed to be in a good mood. Cloud and Ryn sold a bunch of good berries to Bethany and bought vials and a muddler to start making good berry juice. Old Grey went and trained with his new weapon, but still isn't proficient with it. Talen went to The Laughing Skull, a magic shop, where he agreed to put in some enchanting work for the owner Glorianna, in exchange for some spell scrolls. They met back up and made their way to The Laughing Harpy. The ladies of The Dark Hand seemed to be having a great time, drinking and carousing along with the members of The Sons of Mourning. Thalos called them out on stealing from them, to which the ladies stated that they didn't steal anything from the party, they just finished the job that they had started. After some back and forth, the ladies agreed to a fight, though they would get to add an additional member to make the fight more fair. One of the members of the Sons would be joining them. If The Dark Hand won, they would get a future favor from the party for a job. No assassination contracts. Up to 3 vetos. If the party won, the ladies would tell them all about the wand. They were to meet the next morning at the Vingar Ruins outside of the city and the battle would commence.
