Sparrowlight
Sparrowlights are small, bioluminescent birds that frequent magically infused forests during the spring and summer months. After dusk, sparrowlights emit a soft blue light, about as bright as a candle. In places where they're common, people gather just before dusk to watch the trees alight as they begin to glow. In some places, it's common to keep them as pets and companions, using them to light the corner of a room, or as a nightlight for children afraid of the dark. While this glow would normally prove to be an evolutionary disadvantage, Sparrowlights are poisonous for most other species to consume, and as a result have few natural predators. Because they aren't seen during the Autumn and Winter seasons, it's assumed that they lose their bioluminescent properties during those seasons.
