The Silent Slumber

A sickness of unknown origin, causing the victim to fall into a comatose state. The body continues to function normally, but the victim becomes unresponsive to all stimuli. Those that succumb to the sickness have also been reported to cry softly, as though affected by nightmarish visions. If properly cared for, one afflicted by this sickness could theoretically live a normal lifespan, though no recovery has been reported in written history.
