Coins of Kyrn
Most coins of Kyrn follow the Imperial standard that has been in place for thousands of years. One side of the coin bears the image or mark of the person that ordered the coin to be minted, and the reverse side has an image indicating the coin's value. Gold coins bear the head of a dragon, silver coins show an image of crossed swords, and copper coins display a shield. The coins are commonly referred to as Dragons, Swords and Shields.
Platnium coins are not widely circulated and are usually only minted to commemorate a special occasion such as a crowning or a victory. These coins are commonly called Marks as they mark a special event, and are generally only distributed to the wealthy merchants and nobles as a sign of favor from the noble commemorating the event. The front of these coins bear the image of the noble and the reverse side indicates the event in some manner, which usually includes a date reference. These are the only coins that typically have a date on them.
