Creation
This is the standard creation story told throughout the lands. The various temples dedicated to the Risen, tell variations that emphasis their focus of worship, but all agree with this basic story…
In the beginning, Anno the Light and Xi the Dark wandered the void seeking each other out. Once they found each other, they married, and the wedding celebration created the universe. Anno and Xi ruled over their creation and had many children over the eons.
Anno's favorite creation was the sun. He spent his days chasing the sun across the sky, and looking down on the Middle Lands to see what the light of the sun revealed. One day, Tabelon, came to his mother, and said "Mother, what will we children do when Father replaces you?” Xi waved away the question, "Your Father loves us all and me before all others. He would never do that."
Many years passed, and Tabelon would ask his Mother many questions - "Where is Father now?"; "Why does he spend his days with the sun instead of with you?"; "Can the sun love Father the way that he loves it?"
After a while, Xi went out to see what Anno was doing during the day, and what she saw threw her into a jealous rage. Anno was caressing the sun and kissing its rays as they flew by. Xi called on the moon to come and block out the sun so that she, her children and the people of the Middle Lands could not see the betrayal of Anno. It only lasted a moment, because Anno saw the moon and moved it out of the way. Xi then focused all her power into destroying the sun, and very nearly succeeded, but Anno called on his children to help stop their Mother. Half of the children responded, while the other half hid in fear. Anno was able to stop Xi, and as punishment, carried her to the Lower Lands and chained her to the Post of Hope in the lowest part of the Lower Lands, and promised her that she would remain there forever for trying to destroy creation. The children that did not come to Anno's aid, he also banished to the Lower Lands, but because they were not chained, they have the ability to move between the Three Lands.
