Ro'ini Guard

The Ro'ini Guard are an elite unit of moon elves in the Meiron Kingdom. They surround and protect the Meiron royalty at all times.

Composition

Manpower

The Ro'ini Guard consists of thirty five to forty five guards at all times. There are always fifteen guards on duty at any time with three of them assigned to directly guarding the ruling monarch.

Equipment

Their equipment consists of a magically reinforced leather armor that is dyed black. A dark blue cloak that has a ward against magic with silver embroidery is part of the Ro'ini signature dress. An animal skin flask for water and a satchel with three days dry rations is also carried in case of emergencies.

Weaponry

All Ro'ini carry a short bow and quiver for ranged combat and a short sword and curved dagger for melee. Also in their arsenal, as a last resort, is a magically imbued tattoo of a crescent moon inside a triangle on their left forearm, called a Corivus.

Vehicles

When traveling outside the royal palace, the Ro'ini Guard ride on Lorim.

Structure

While there is no formal captain or individual in charge, those that have been a part of the guard the longest are generally looked up to as the leaders via seniority. In some instance this will lead to an older guard, with regards to age, following the commands of a younger guard.

Training

In order to maintain their elite skills, all Ro'ini guards are required to train for at least half of their off duty time. This can be shooting in an archery course to improve their timing and accuracy. Or sometimes it is mock combat with other guards to keep up the sword and dagger skills. A couple of the Ro'ini are also capable of magic and will practice these skills on targets placed in an obstacle gauntlet.
