Kythera

Kythera is a lush world full of vast nature, punctuated by the warm glow of civilization. These civilizations rise and fall, and the professions of explorer or adventurer become more and more common. Though the sapient races of Kythera have become more prominent so too have their opponents- both natural not. Even the lowliest citizens must be confident and competent since monsters roam the land, people lie and kill for power, and recently there have been whispers of something unseen vying for influence.   Kythera is also a world of overflowing magic and mysteries. Magical items, spells, creatures, blessings and curses in every combination are possible and commonplace. Though many use these powers to for good, many have much grander ambitions. Kythera's saturation of magical energy leads many to pursue it and bend it to their will.   Most of all, Kythera is a world of contrasts. Magic so common that even the most downtrodden can learn spells. Civilizations that bring people together, but conflict that threatens to tear them apart. Cruelty and kindness in equal measure. The only reliable aspect of Kythera is the liminal state of the world. Though stable for many years now, new schemes and plots the threaten to bubble to the surface at any moment.
