Government
Previously under the rule of Duke Basile de Châtenay. Post-invasion, the city's governance transitioned to the monarchy of the Middle Sorewenian Kingdom.
Industry & Trade
Historically, Châtenay thrived as a trade hub, known for its high-end accomodation and spas catering to travelers and merchants. However, following the catastrophic events of the demonic invasion, the city's economic activities have shifted primarily to managing and supporting its swollen population. The city's guilds, notably the Traders' Syndicate and the Healers' Circle, play significant roles in maintaining logistical and medical order.
Despite its hardships, Châtenay remains a crucial cultural and administrative center. The city has retained its status as a trading hub, though with a pronounced shift towards necessity goods and relief materials.
Infrastructure
Châtenay's infrastructure is heavily strained due to a drastic increase in its population, primarily refugees from the fallen capital of Agelbover and other war-torn areas. Formerly luxurious hotels are now overcrowded shelters, and issues related to sanitation and limited resources are prevalent. The city faces challenges related to accommodation, resource allocation, and maintaining public order.

Climate
Châtenay enjoys a temperate climate with distinct seasons, aiding in the cultivation of a variety of crops throughout the year. The summers are warm with a fair amount of rainfall, while winters are relatively mild but prone to occasional frosts.
