Fjordstrond-Astania Alliance

Political event

The alliance formed between the "savage folk" of Astania and the scholars of Fjordstrond after a realization of their connected bloodlines.

After hearing Shellbay had grown close to the Snow-Rock Isles and the grip of their ancestors was growing in their own lands, the scholars of Fjordstrond decided to look for potential allies amongst nearby villages and commonfolk. Their letters to certain Shellbay families were all intercepted, losing them as an option. Eventually, when going through familial records, a librarian that served under the Baron of Fjordstrond identified a connection between the Skaldson family, who ruled Fjordstrond (via Iketta Skaldson), and the blood of Warren (via Elrich Astani). Together, the two individuals had Afingar Astani.   Now having the claim to royal blood, Fjordstrond sent messengers to the savage Barondom of Astani and explained the potential alliance. While the Astani family would have more family in Shellbay, they still held a grudge for the exile, unlawful execution of Ester Logratte, and the lack of action on the Logratte family to reverse the situation. Feeling some kinship for their shared "outlander" status from Shellbay and the isles, Astani agreed to their terms.
