The swift attack against the Thanids by the Tara-Jhen, followed by the Quai changing its allegiance to the Kaban.
The Tara-Jhen came to New Vhan Hnidas in full force, crawling from the realm of the Quai directly to the center of the Thanid territory. They brought warriors and stopped the burning of the Quai before beginning a slaughter against the Thanids and Kaban. They showed no mercy and had the intention of eliminating the entirety of the exiled race. However, as they approached Rodaka, the Kaban began to panic. They proceeded to do the unthinkable, approaching the Quai (perhaps in prayer, the reports are few). Regardless of their tactics, the Quai granted them safety. When the invading forces reached the village, they managed to see the last few Kaban disappearing into the realm of Quai. When they attempted to follow the tortoise folk, they found themselves unable to enter the Quai. They were now stuck in New Vhan Hnidas with no way of escaping. The warriors turned their attention back to the Thanids, cutting them a deal for their lives. The thanids were to locate and gain the trust of the Kaban, wherever they had gone to. If just a few of them served as spies, the rest of their species would get to sail south, and inhabit whatever unknown lands they may find (if there was any at all). Believing that this extended exile was better than certain death, they agreed. A handful stayed behind while the rest immediately made preparations for leaving Mot D'nir for good.
