Having their home and family taken from them, the Strand-Bloods began working up political alliances with the largest of the Naga-Tel tribes, even going as far as to share Jurejun tree spores for growth.

When Abbot II and her crew arrived back to Drulluvatn, they shred the news of their homes destruction. This left them with no other options, and staying in the new lands was their only path for survival. At the time, they had no clue that Kanel planned on settling parts of these lands as well, and that conflict would not swell until later.   The key Broodmother they wished to entice was named Haas Thinil and she had very particular terms in mind for alliance. The humans had very little in the way of useful resources, but when she mentioned that the Tara-Jhen held a chokehold on the region with a deity called the "Quai," Abbot II developed plans.   It was now that Abbot learned of the ongoing territory conflicts between the Naga-Tel, Tara-Jhen, and the Thanids (a froglike race) over a spiritual being under the name of the Quai. This being assimilated plants and sometimes animals, granting great spiritual powers to those who wielded it. The Quai had chosen each of the races at separate times, but the Tara-Jhen had now held it the longest. The metaphysical, wormhole esque properties of the Quai territory also ensured that anyone who was chosen would lay claim to any other Quai territory.   Hearing this, Abbot offered Haas roots from the Jurejun trees and claimed that they would allow spiritual connection to Chal Churdour. Potentially through him, the Naga-Tel would be able to find the meaning and spiritual power they sought out as a replacement for the Quai. Haas allowed the humans to stay in their territory until they received the spiritual results that were promised. If the promised connection to Chal Churdour never came, the humans were to be punished. Fortunately, this was not a problem as Chal Churdour reached out to Haas once the tree began to grow.
