Iskaleth

The home city of the Iskathi , Iskaleth is located on the Desert of Glass, south of the Dragonstooth Mountains

Demographics

The population of the city is exclusively Iskathi. The Dragonborn do not readily accepted visitors from the other races, due to fears they may be agents of the Elder Gods. All dealings with the other peoples of Lanath are conducted through their outpost on Occatil. Few members of other races e even realise Iskaleth exists

Government

The city, and by extension Iskathi society, is run by a council of elders. Day to day management, through to major political decisions, are made by this oligarchy. However, global scale decisions, or decisions where the council cannot agree, are passed on to a higher authority. A representative of the council is chosen, who travels to the Dragonspire Volcano to seek guidance from the Metallic Dragons. As always, this is a risky endeavour typically only employed in times of great importance

Defences

The Dragonborn are tried and tested warriors, constantly training for the return of the Elder Gods, or seeking out and destroying and incursions through the veil. Every able body citizen of the city is a highly skilled combatant, and as such Iskaleth has no formal militia or guarde

Industry & Trade

The main exports from the city are obsidian crafts, weapons and armour. These are all transported to Occatil to be traded with other races.

Assets

Due to the plentiful supply of obsidian, most of the city is made of it. In addition, many artisans have become skilled at crafting in shadow glass, and there are many beautiful works of art can be found in Iskaleth.

Architecture

Iskaleth is a city of obsidian spires and delicate curved bridges. The beauty of the city is a surprise to any outsiders, as the Dragonborn are known as a stoic and stuffy species, not given to flights of fancy. The glass sparkles in the sunlight, and as the light refracts through the thinner sections it creates iridescent patterns on the ground, giving the whole city a strangely aquatic feel.

Iskaleth is located at the edge of the Desert of Glass, a vast plain of obsidian formed when the Metallic Dragons fought the forces of the Elder Gods
