Blood Moon Curse

Causes

A curse placed upon the Land of Ranangard created by the aplty named Cult of the Blood Moon.

Symptoms

There are no symptoms for anyone that is alive. The Blood Moon is a curse afflicting the land of Ranangard. Any person (that is, any living humanoid) that dies within Ranangard is reanimated into a zombie within 48 hours of their death. Stregoni reanimation into true vampiredom is likewise accelerated.

Prevention

So far, the only means of preventing this reanimation is by either destroying the corpse or go through a funerary ritual undertaken by priests of The Church of Hredd.
The Gentle Repose spell can temporarilly halt these effects, as does similar magic.

History

The Blood Moon was a magical effect that took place on the night of the First Kingsday of Alturak, 1738 AV. It's named so because of the manifestation of twin full moons, red as blood.Apparently the manifestation was only visible from Ranangard. So far its effects are also localized in that Land, but it is possible they will spread further.
