Norland-Trio-Union War

War

Written by Fulma02

Introduction

The Norland-Trio-Union War was a conflict that took place in the early 18th century, primarily in Western Norland. The war was fought between a coalition of states led by the Felamit Kingdom. The war began in 1704 ADE and lasted for only a year, ending in 1705 with the Treaty of Kozig.

Background

Causes

The main cause of the war was the expansionist policies of the Imperial Norlandic government. The ruling Mehr at that time, who sought to gain control of the western states of Norland and the bordering Mashriquian countries. The Kingdom of Felamit, which was under the Trio-Union (union between Felamit, Harada, and Telkhab) under the leadership of Aurvatashp V, saw this as a threat to their own territorial ambitions and economic interests in the region.   However, the Trio-Union, before the start of the war, proved to be unable to support and maintain its army in a defensive war against a military powerhouse. In addition, its military had been proposed on the basis that the army would be financially self-supporting through plunder and taxation of newly gained land, a concept shared by most minor powers of the period. The cost of a war with a major power proved to be much higher than the Trio-Union countries could fund. This inability to support the military, coupled by the fact that their military was disorganized and weak, made it an easy target for the Imperial Norland's territorial ambitions.

History

War begins

The war began when Norland was sensing an opportunity as the Trio-Union was ruled by the young, inexperienced, and recently crowned Aurvatashp V, declared war on the Trio-Union and launched a threefold attack on Felamit, Telkhab as well as the Haradans. The Trio-Union army defended their lines against Imperial Norlandic Army attacks at Kozig and Saiqa respectively, and in a counter-offensive pushed Norlandic forces out from Felamitian territory, plundering multiple towns and villages on the way and forcing the Norlandic Army to acknowledge an embarassing defeat. The defeat also secured the extradition and execution of Manouchehr Pakdel, a Norlandic army field commander.   Meanwhile, the Norlandic forces assigned to Harada had recovered from a blowing defeat and gained ground in Harada's eastern provinces, where they cemented Harada's access to some of its crucial ports by seizing control over numerous coastal Haradan cities. A Telkhabian unit was moved from Telkhab into Harada to act as a reinforcement, but the it ended with the destruction of the main Telkhabian army at the decisive Battle of Shehiri.   The rest of the war continued with a series of Norlandic victories, as the Imperial Norlandic Army successfully invaded and occupied much of present-day Felamit, Telkhab, and Harada. However, the tide of the war began to turn in the early 1705 ADE, when Aurvatashp V's army led a counter-offensive and defeated the Imperial Norlandic army at the Battle of Kozig. Despite this victory, the combined Trio-Union army was unable to maintain its momentum and was eventually defeated by the Norlandic army in further battles. The war ended with the Treaty of Kozig, which saw Norland gain full, unrestricted territorial control of the three nations and become one of the dominant powers in the Savin countries.

Aftermath

The Norlandic-Trio-Union War had a significant impact on the political and economic landscape of the Norstan region. The war strengthened the Norlandic Empire, making it a world-class power, while the Trio-Union would soon cease to exist after its annexation. The war also had a significant impact on the Norstan region, as it saw the rise of Imperial Norlandic influence and the annexation of various Norstan countries. Furthermore, the war also led to the creation of the STS, which emerged as a major trading power in the area after the seizure of the Sherket Bazrgana Harada (SBH). The Norland-Trio-Union war also had a significant impact on the economy of the neighboring states, as it disrupted trade and commerce in the region.
