Origins of Nestefer

Written by Fulma02

Introduction

The country currently well-known today as Nestefer has an origin riddled with various mysteries and theories. There are few hypotheses for their ancestries although none of them have been confirmed by historians and other trusted sources to be one hundred percent accurate.

Theories

Invasion From Hardalan

One of the more widespread theories for the origins of the people of Nestefer were attributed to the multiple incursions from the north of the region in an area now known as Hardalan. The theory declares that during the 2nd century B.C. large masses of people from the north bearing their fierce warrior culture and their nimble use of horses slowly invaded the region. The people were periodically named by local historians as "Ashvans" or "Asvhanis". They were commonly referred to as a "warrior state"; however, during their migration they butchered and coerced the local population, who were most likely than not, a close relative of the people of the modern-day region of Lakharat. Nowadays, the aforementioned population who were regularly killed by the Ashvans, has vanished to obscurity.

Natural Settlements from the West

Another prevalent theory for the origins of the people of Nestefer is that ancient people inherently migrated into the region from the Western regions of Norstan or Northern Mashriquia. Ancient records from the 1st century B.C. provide strong evidence that support this claim/theory. Additionally, the language similarities shared by both parties are supplementary evidence that endorses the theory.

Ancient Peninsulars

An interesting theory that has some evidence backing it, is the theory that Nesteferans are in fact, descendants of an ancient group of people originating from the Northern Peninsula. The evidence consists of some words in Nesteferan that are strangely enough, identical to words commonly used on the peninsula, specifically Lucia and it's surrounding states. Another piece of evidence supporting the theory is the use of bird iconography that is commonly used on Peninsular works, particularly its flags ans banners.

First Creation of the Nestefer State

For most of its history, Nestefer was a region of various tribal authorities vying for power over others. During the year 532 C.E. a man known as Sayfullah Shah Zmarayzai rallied his tribe in order to create a large military force that would create devastation among the region. With the newly found forces, Sayfullah conquered neighboring tribes preaching an ideology of unification among the identical tribes into one people, under one banner. One by one tribes came to join the new nation under his rule. However, the southern tribes were reluctant on joining his cause because of their relationship to the southern region of Lakharat. These tribes from the south were known to be descendants of a group of people escaping from a mad Lakharatian king, and although they adopted the values of the people that welcomed them, they still helped some attachment to their former home. The southern tribes eventually conceded, and finally in the year 547 C.E., the region was united for the first time.
