Written by Fulma02

Introduction

Tūreh (Nardiks: توره) is a large trading port located on the southwestern tip of Kee Island, off the southern coast of Norland. With its large commercial locations, the port is touted as a commercial paradiese, with numerous firms and organizations fighting to have a spot on the port. The port is now currently owned and controlled by the Norlandian government through the ministry of international trade.

History

Tūreh is thought to have been further developed into a major port under ancient kingdoms' rule. The port was then a commercial source of materials for building and construction. Politically, Tūreh was often the subject of dispute between the nearby states. In 1956, Norland acquired it from the SARE after also acquiring the Kee Islands. in which the port has remained since.

Modern Businesses

It was not until the 20th century that rich oil fields were discovered in the area. On 18th of 1908, after negotiations with SARE diplomats, assisted by Mashriqian conglomerates, agreed to a rental agreement for the port, including the oil fields. The government continued to administer the island until 1924. The National Company for Oil and Trade (NCOT) built their first pipeline terminus oil refinery near the port, starting in 1909 and completing it in 1912, with oil flowing later that year. Refinery throughput numbers rose from 33,000 tons in 1912–1913 to 4,338,000 tons in 1931. By 1938, it was the largest in the region.
