Traditions and Beliefs of the Yennese people

General Cultural Practices

Yennese people are usually attached to families traditions and superstitions to glorify their family and their culture as a whole. The Yennese always wakes up at least before the sun has gone fully south (12:00) and waking up later is considered uneducated and unrespectful to the hours of praying; another tradition is to gift a flower to your wife every anniversary (marrying included) to represent the strength of love; yennese people also think that rebelling to studying/working is against their culture and can be punished no matter the age. A tradition is to create a lance and gift it to the nearest commander at least once in life, if it's not done, it's considered unrespectful to the people who protect you.

CROWISM (origins and myth)

"As the hills eclipsed the sun, n'zona stood infront of the window of his house in the village of Kener-yen-torian (also called keyentor) while her brothers slept. She started to see a groch (crow) approcing her, and she felt scared. But something kept her infront of the window. The crow leaned against the window and started talking: (how majestic, you decided to stare at your future instead to sleep with your brothers, you're beautiful, you're respectful... You've been chosen by God to be beatiful, respectful and brave, spread his word to save Yen) the crow then welped his wing and fled away. N'zona started telling what happened last evening, but her brothers made fun of her; the only person to listen to her was J'ounz'en, a popular aristocrat known for his benevolent actions for his followers, so he told the girl he also saw the crow and waited someone to see them as well to start telling the prophecy.
After a few years the aristocrat known as Hyun passed away with almost all of his followers converting to "grochena" (crowism) and N'zona took his place as the leader of the faith and voice of God, though she was assassinated by 2 uncivilized tribals some decades later. Despite this more and more grochyiens (high priests of Crowism) came to take her place and the faith remained strong to this day.     It is thought that all of this took place around the 6th century BCE. The crow became a sacred symbol in Yen.   Converting to crowism is important in the society of Yen as it means joining a community, a family and basically the entire island. For converting, you need to: 1)- go to a grochyani (priest) and say aloud with belief "kep buon yren yan nim, fyan jep yan liseri el t'have yen" (May god purify my soul, forgive me for my errors and save yen).
Once you said the sentence, the priest will make you knee on the floor and touch your shoulders with his sacred stick; in special cases, even crows. 2)- pray 4 times a day. 3)- cry the death of N'zona every time the moon is only a third quarter (usually the 22th day of the month). 4)- pilgrimage to Keyentor at least once in life.
