By writing information of a person's life on them, they can be brought back to life once. The more accurate the description is the more of the person it will capture. The power of Historie is primarily practiced by Biographers and is a closely guarded secret.

The more of a the story of someone's life is written, the more true to the person they will be. It is hard to tell what the sum of a person is but a general rule amongst Biographers is covering three quarters of a body with tattoos will be a functioning person with few connections with the dead person. Research for this can take a great deal of time and the more records there are of a person's life the easier it is so it is often left only for the most important.

Effect

The magic is purely limited to bringing the dead back to life however as long as the story is good and mainly accurate a few changes can be made. Lies about what the person thought are often told to the Biographer and if they aren't careful the person who comes back may end up with different thoughts and feelings. Conceptually a Biographer could have edits made to themselves on death such as having more intellect or charm but it is risky as Historie can only be used once.

Side/Secondary Effects

Fatal injuries are healed and post mortem rot is removed. It is dangerous to attempt to remove long term injuries as they are often important to the story of their life.

The words of someones life are written like tattoos on the person.

Historie comes from calling Eidolons to support an idea, that idea is the story of someone's life and the impact that they made on the world and the people around them.

The art was discovered in First Loss and the practitioners rarely travel out of fear of losing their secrets.

Gestures & Ritual

Any amount of tattoos can be written on a corpse but it is only when "and then they were revived by Historie" is written that the ritual is finished and they either return or are forever dead.

Applied Restriction

Someone can only be returned to life using Historie once and it is impossible to use Historie quickly, it requires a lot of research and buy in by the Eidolon.
