Frog Folk (Nelglorians)
Even though they are not as widely known as nelglorians, that’s how they proudly call themselves. Scholastic documents agree that this is mostly due to them being a newly created people; about 1,000 years ago, by magic and tragedy combined. This came to be between the Third and the Fourth Eras of the Third Eon, in the Lantaris continent, per the transmutation of Lord Glorian of Nelg and the loss of everything he held dear shortly before the end Rudrokian-Urudian War of Treasons.
Lord Glorian’s legend is told through unrelenting suffering, purification by honor and the stalwart glory of goodness. The facts that he reject his humanity to embody being the first of the Frog Folk and that the war became a shame to both parties helped further the ill repute of how low humans can get and, at the same time, made a very positive reputation to his cause for good, attracting so many followers. This resulted in the rapid establishment of The Kingdom of Guardannia and the founding of the Order of The Water, which is the most acknowledged paladin order there is. Shortly after this, Lord Glorian of Nelg ascended to godhood as the demigod of heroism, justice and paladins.
Even tough the majority of nelglorians are very competent individuals that have travelled high and abroad (with heroic deeds backing them up), their population is still concentrated on their motherland. The Kingdom of Guardannia is a beaming beacon of justice and compassion, forming and attracting the vast majority of heroes and seeker adventurers of the world. It’s also the greatest accomplishment of the nelglorians, alongside their ordained Blue Paladins, who defend it and their history of uncorrupted success and martyrdom against the worst evils.
The Frog Folk believe that swordplay and wordplay are complementary to each other and have made a tradition out of it. They are also intrinsically talented in water, ice and healing magic. This helps explain why they form an above average amount of great fighters, clerics, paladins, wizards and, sometimes, bards from all the civilized peoples of Lantartia.
