Lassatos are not elves. They may look just like them and move as they move, but they are not elves. They are different. Better. Or so would they insist. There’s rarely a better way to infuriate a lassato than to insinuate he or she is an elf (a typical laiknil would be as quick to anger if confused with a lassato too, for that matter). And being innately psychic, they are veeery good at detecting insinuations. Most lassatos deny any and all relation to elfëans as their origin began in opposition to them and the authoritarian Galanniniel Elfëan Dellor (Elfëan Empire of Sunrising Beauty). The lassatian peole rose as a force representing all that the empire and its people lacked; selfless discipline, fair rulership and citizenship based on merit. Lassatian culture presses on those points to prove the inherent instability of their dependency on magic and how corrupting a force it is. Lassatos value efficiency and precision in everything they do. They also are deeply focused on beauty and knowledge, which often is expressed in arts and the study of the natural world. Their love for minerals and unmatched crafting skills in the making of crystals, psychic or not, have granted them the respect of even dwarven and kobold mining guilds.
