Satyrs

Reputably the most “awe-fun” bards there are and there could be, satyrs sometimes still sing the cries of the largely forgotten Fey Purge they supposedly incited. The song verses about how some of the most skillful satyrs became drunk on playing others like marionettes, as if they were tied to strings by their witty riffs and rhymes, even kings or queens at times. For infinite food, diligent drinks or proof of power... Who knows? Whose records of it are unspoiled enough to be trusted?
The mass persecutions, purges, wars and famine killed the most prominent influencers first and through the next centuries lead to the establishment of a strong bardic code that turned political meddling into taboo. Satyrs goat horns and hoofed legs, singing and playing with their long pointy tongues, lutes or flutes would no longer seek the high courts at all costs. Except to dance with their goaty legs and tails in the sadness of these forgotten songs.
Anyhow the satyrs are still seemed after and regarded as heralds of great enjoyment. They are also often involved in less creative careers like fighters, paladins and warlocks in which they have time and again proven themselves to have as much value as their silver tongues.
