Raccoon

The time lords, being a busy group of people, never had pets. However, as Aaron Firehand and his cousin began meeting new people (mainly ones that Lord Soehl knew), one animal began to stand out to them: the raccoon. In the dialect of another world, Pope Fortnite would once tell Aaron, it meant laundry bear. This caused Aaron to begin to idolise them, and some imagery in the walls of the Time Lord's Rift now bears pictures and effigies of raccoons.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The raccoon has four hands which it uses to feed and wash itself, as well as move along the ground.

Biological Traits

They are mostly brown furred creatures, with some having a few gray hairs and black and white stripes on their tails. They have black fur around their eyes, similar to a mask.

Growth Rate & Stages

The life expectancy of a raccoon is about two and a half years; although some have lived longer, staying alive for up to five or six years.

Ecology and Habitats

Raccoons live in wooded areas, which means most will be found mainly on the island of Lunan or the outskirts of Las Aminour. However, they can adapt to urban life, which causes some to domesticate them and keep them as pets. Raccoons will not live or thrive in colder temperatures, due to the lack of food to forage as well as the cold temperatures.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Raccoons eat mostly fruits and vegetables, although they will forage for fish on an occassion as well.

Biological Cycle

Most raccoons stay in their dens during the colder seasons of their area, but some will if they need to forage for food. A domestic raccoon will stay active all year round.

Behaviour

Wild raccoons are night animals, meaning they will forage for food during the nighttime hours. Domestice raccoons will either be active during the day or night, depending on the seasons. During the colder seasons, raccoons will be more active during the day and sleep during the night. During the warmer seasons, raccons will sleep during the day and be more active at night.

Domestication

Raccoons can either be domesticated at a very young age (half of a year old) to their young adult period (a year and a day). Any raccoon that is older than this will usually be more defiant and willing to run away when anything displeases them with their master.
