Lasair is System Agnostic!

I want to take a moment to explicitly state that Lasair is not being written with Dungeons and Dragons specifically in mind. I am personally playing in the world using those rules, but that's because that's what I and my friends know. The setting is being created setting-first, rather than trying to adhere to any particular group of rules.    This means that while in some places I will include D&D-specific information (especially the Character Classes - Rules and Character Races - Rules articles), the setting itself can easiily be used as a place to put your game. This means if you want to explore here using Pathfinder, Fate, GURPS, whatever.. go for it! It may take a bit of work and thinking through to ensure that you're getting the right feel into various characters or monsters, but your game is YOUR game. The stories you're telling there are YOUR stories. I do not care what crunchy bits you use to get there!   I feel like some gamers can get very locked into settings needing to be specific to rules, or expect that everything is self-contained. My experiences in the miniature wargaming space (hello, Games Workshop fanboys) have certainly jaded me a bit on that front. It can be hard for certain gamer segments to accept that one can easily transpose one setting into another set of rules. So this is me giving outright permission and encouragement.   Lasair is a land for creating and sharing stories. The dice (or cards, or hand gestures) you use to get there are completely irrelevant to those stories! Have fun, love your characters, bring your GM pizza.   -Jason
