Callid (Cuh-Leed)
Brief Description: Callid is a North Eastern coastal city on the continent of Xegira that is surrounded by ocean on most sides. It is best known for its fisheries, stall markets, and trading ports. Callid is also known for its shipyards, which produce some of the finest vessels in the region. The city's location on the coast and its skilled shipbuilders make it a hub for sea trade and commerce. This city is also home to a large market district, where traders from all over Xegira come to buy and sell goods. The market is bustling with activity, and it's said that you can find just about anything if you know where to look. The local cuisine of Callid is known for its seafood dishes, such as grilled octopus and salted cod. Visitors to the city often seek out the best seafood restaurants, which offer fresh catches of the day.
The city's architecture is a mix of styles, reflecting the different cultural influences that have passed through over the years. The oldest buildings in Callid are made of stone and have a rustic, medieval look, while newer buildings are often built with wood and have a more modern design.
It is common for Callidian folk to worship Persynth, the sea goddess, who is said to protect the city's fishermen and sailors. There is a large temple dedicated to the goddess in the center of the city, and some of the city's festivals and celebrations are held in her honor.
Callid was one of the few cities that was seemingly unscathed through the course of The Inundation. It did, however, feel some economic pressures when some cities (that Callid had been trading with) had fallen. The decrease in goods from said cities caused Callid to have a significant shortage of many resources. Additionally, the trade routes were still generally dangerous especially knowing that beasts may be afflicted with The Essence.

Government: Callid is a Representative Democracy. Each of its citizens has a voice toward electing an individual who is competent enough to make larger decisions on behalf of the city. This title is best known as "The Appointed One". Currently, Callid's Appointed One is Calashadir.
At 35 years of age, Calashadir is the youngest elected official to date. Most will say it is because he is pure in heart, cultured, and wants the best for this realm. Others might say that he was able to make a name for himself because he was able to earn "Origin Tokens" at an accelerated rate and seems to have one of the strongest idea as to what the continent looks like post-inundation since he had traversed it so young.
