Current Events: Currently, the majority of the continent is in a state of array in most regions after a cataclysmic event altered the face of the continent as society had known it. This disruptive event will forever be known as "The Inundation". There are rumors of military technology that had gone awry causing a chain reaction of magically influenced blasts in different sections of the continent. Some believe that the the gods were unpleased, intentionally wreaked havoc on the continent, and left it to rot. 100 years later, there is still much ambiguity with little to no explanation for what had happened. For the last century, people were left to simply theorize and guess to find closure for the events that unfolded. To date, there are no recorded survivors through the events that unfolded in the center-most part of the continent.
After the rest of the world learned what had transpired, migrants made their way over to the continent all for a variety of unique reasons:

• Thrill seekers were wanting to see the part of the continent where these blasts had allegedly detonated.
• Others people migrated for religious reasons with the intention of cleansing or purifying the land (Similar to that of "White Cloaks") against any creatures or natural wildlife unlucky enough to have been afflicted by The Essence.
