2.1 Of Life and Death - Into the Woods

General Summary

The party begins their journey to Ismira and enters Du Weldenvarden.

Ready to set off towards Ismira the party decided to purchase some horses, while initally too expensive for the party to afford, thanks to Gorky flirting with the stable boy they were able to get a discount.

Du Weldenvarden

After entering Du Weldenvarden the party noticed that while there were obvious signs of various animals in the forest, they all seemed to be avoiding the party. Still they continued on, and as the day came to an end they made camp. While sleeping they kept watch, but they were still caught off guard by a shambling mound. After a long battle, during which Paathio accidentally struck Rexis while trying to free him the monster's embrace, they were finally able to kill it. Rexis landed the final blow with his Frostbrand. After killing it they found a giant shield with the effigy of Bahamut carved in the center. While it was found by Azarik he gave it to Paathio to use. Partially as a gift, and partially because she's the only one who could use it.
