Staff of Sovereignty

The Staff of Sovereignty is the symbol of absolute authority and peace. It was made after The Eternal War as a part of The Promise of Peace to be given to The Peacebearer. The item has since then been in ownership of the the following Peacebearers and represents their power.
While the greatest power lies in what the staff symbolizes is is also magical. It requires attunement by a Peacebearer to use. It is ment to prevent war and the magic it holds is rumored lie in that realm. Its exact power is known to royalties, learned mages and high priests.
The user can use this staff as a key to open the War Vault, a vault full of artifacts locked away after the war. The Peacebearer also needs, in addition to the Staff, two other members of the Council of Power (representing different powers).
The items locked away in the war all either have great destructive potential or bad history connected with them. The dagger used assassinate Ravalus Derodi during his day of coronation is one of those items. Crimson Edge, an ax with magical sharpness, is another item locked in there. It was used by a man from north of Academia to behead an entire village, including children and animals, as he did saw them as a threat to the human purity. A number of magical wands able to summon clouds of poisonous gas is also locked away here, as that type of fighting was deemed as a war crime, even against fights against monstrous races as goblins.

Significance

The staff was created as a symbol for the Promise of Peace and became the physical representation of peace for humans. It is a significant in human culture and law. It is an item that any human, and probably any sentiment creature in Lavera, knows what it is. It is featured in art, on coins and in official context.
