Lawold

Lawold was born from conflict. Colliding tectonic plates and the friction of monstrous bodies birthed mountains and valleys, lakes and rivers and flat plains. The plates collided so hard as to begin to drift apart, creating great rifts that became the deepest oceans, until two large continents were born.   These two continents saw the birth of deities, both good and evil who began to war with each other. The wars lasted for eons, neither side finding favorable footing, and so they created armies. Vast populations sprung into being, each modeled after their gods' appearances and qualities. The goodly gods sought freedom and compassion, giving their followers free will to make their own choices, while the evil ones sought only slavery and obedience.   Eventually the goodly races grew tired of conflict, abandoning their deities' wars in favor of establishing cities and civilizations. Their gods blessed them in this endeavor, seeing the potential for peace and prosperity. Evil, however, never rests. Never sleeps.   The world as you know it is not a safe place. Cites and towns may be refuges, but the wilderness always fights back. Wild animals and marauding bands patrol major roads, while great armies march to quell threats, real or imaginary.
