His Majestic Order Bank
Overview: His Majestic Order Bank has been an elite financial society for most the darker days of the Gorian Sector. While mostly of independantist nature against the will of the both Calixis Sector and Dryaedes Cluster, the bank used many of its connection and ties to finance opponents and commercial interests that directly opposed the foreign will of its opponents. However, it couldn't match the pure economical power of the Calixian trade consortium and the Dryaedes Trapezim and was slowly forced in a losing race where most of its capital was spent.
Effect: HMO Bank is a commercial investment, granting its proprietor 1 influence eachdowntime, +1 on a successful -30 commerce test if someone can be there to give the order. Furthermore, if a character goes on site, he may test influence to gain a temporary +10 influence to his next acquisition test.
Structure
The HMO bank is commanded by its Majestic Twelve, which are a form of both mystical and administrative order derivating their choices of investment from use of the Emperor's Tarot, councils from their twelth member which is a figure from the Ministorium and such.
They then determine which people are to be given money to and taken money from, and what projects to finance.
Culture
His Majestic Order Bank has a way of seeing the destiny of the Gorian Sector against its Calixian and Dryaedes rival as a sign from the Emperor preparing them against further challenges and as such, the bank is always striving to find spiritual meaning and powerful contracts entertwined in a single-minded financial mission.
Public Agenda
Financing Gorian interests against foreign intervention.
Assets
Most of the bank is now operating its vestigial fortunes and investments from its ancient time of glory.
History
Against the Trapezim of Sontha of the Dryaedes and the Mechenko Dynasty of Calixis, His Majestic Order Bank slowly bankrupted by leasing money to many projects and commercial interests that couldn't match rivalling banking organisations and financial leaders of the Segmentum Obscurus. To keep up, the HMO bank had to spray its financial resources in ever increasing amount with important returns. Over time, most of its investors and spiritual leaders abandonnend, forcing the Majestic Twelve to incorporate new benefactors that were less and less influential and financially powerful, until the bank became only a shadow of its former self.
While still a very rich local commercial investment board, the HMO bank is now only concerned with trying to build back its ancient roots and contribute to the sector's politics and economics as much as it can. The recent arrival of Lady Leila Svenlar from Stella Viacrux, however, has brough an impressive amount of financial ressources to the bank that let it hope a revival in the times to come.
