Zariel
Zariel is the acadean deity of wisdom and one of the seven main deities in the acadean pantheon. Their main domain is science, technology and travel and they are driven mainly by the desire to invent and explore, not only the world, but also the frontiers of science and technology, and supporting the humans who do the same. Whenever an acadean person wants to travel or has made a discovery or invention of any kind, a sacrifice to Zariel is in order to keep in their good graces and to continue exploring successfully or travelling safely.
Zariels appearance can change dramatically depending on the situation, down to their percieved gender and age. Thus it is basically impossible to describe them. In general, their most notable feature is the absence of any notable features. This represents the fact that anyone can travel, explore and discover, regardless of background, gender or physical appearance. Zariel is usually depicted wearing simple clothes, carrying a book or scroll and a dagger and accompanied by a dog or a horse. They supposedly have a kind but rather serious personality and to always have some words of wisdom at the ready for anyone in need of advice.
Their followers devote themselves to the pursuit of science and exploration and are generally rather intellegent in one way or another. This can also include thieves, since Zariel is not necessarily caught up in what is legally right or wrong, as long as it is done intellegently. Most of Zariel's followers are law-abaiding citizens, many of them engineers, scientists, architects, teachers and the like. Travellers are under their protection as well, since they explore the world in their own way too. Anyone who explores and discovers in any way, shape or form, is under the protection of Zariel.
