Macdara Wayfinder
Macdara Wayfinder was a Rathi druid from Lith Kala, who was born during the time of the Basilisk Queens. When the Empire of Kataris fell, his son Faelan was killed by the deserters led by Gnaeus Tertius Claro who occupied the Iatromantion Kalaon.
Overwhelmed by sorrow and rage at the death of his son, Macdara entered the Everbleeding Shrine at the heart of Lith Kala and made a pact with Shenemahu i-Eru to ensure that those responsible for his son's death were punished for their crimes; this curse led to the sealing of the chamber and the imprisonment of Claro and his soldiers in the darkness, where they eventually resorted to murder and cannibalism.
Macdara's curse prevented the souls of the dead from passing on whilst he lived, but burdened him with the sorrow that he felt for his son's death to never pass. Whilst it was within his power to lift the curse whenever he wished, he never did so in life - and would not do so even on his deathbed. In his final days he returned to the Iatromantion and descended into the darkness, that his soul would likewise be there forever and he would thus be able to perpetually keep Claro and the others imprisoned.
Macdara's spirit was finally laid to rest in 1344 AK, when adventurers acting on the behest of Sha'tzat Alutos, emissary of Yazba'yaza entered the Iatromantion to purify it of the darkness that had gathered there.
