Sanctioned Necromancer
A sanctioned necromancer is an Alderni magician who has been trained in the arts of necromancy and is permitted to study such things under the supervision of the clergy of Kriophona. Whilst the reanimation of corpses and the creation of ensoulled undead is generally forbidden, for the most part the Alderni authorities and the Kriophonan priesthood recognise the benefit of having scholars who understand the workings of necromancy in order to guard against the abuse of such powers.
All sanctioned necromancers are lay intiates of a Kriophonan consobrinum; the most martially inclined tend to be associated with the Order of the Winter Spear, and are granted special legal dispensation to apprehend rogue necromancers by force.
