Vash Turoth

Little remains of the ruined dwarven city of Vash Turoth, which is recorded in the Tevashi Chronicles as having been been lost several centuries prior to the foundation of Tzim Tevash. Little is known about the Turothi, though the Maradathi claim to be their distant descendants. Some have speculated that there may have been a connection between Vash Turoth and the Dragonborn of Clan Turnuroth, the Ivory Horde, though the truth of this matter is lost to the sands of time.
It is unclear whether Vash Turoth was known to the Empire of Kataris or not; the generally-accepted account is that the ruins were rediscovered by a local farmer in the mid 11th century AK, who began to secretly excavate them, and that this only came to light more generally after her death. Since then, the ruins have been thoroughly excavated under the supervision of House Urbasiru-Votellian, a dwarven clan from Vash Hamokar elevated to the low nobility for their support in the War of the Seas. The majority of finds from Vash Turoth are believed to have been taken to Vash Hamokar, where the Urbasiru-Votellians are believed to have gone into "internal exile"; the control of the site is a matter of ongoing disagreement between the Autokrator of Staggia and the dwarves of Vash Hamokar.
