Kallistea Volkenglass, Emissary of Ras Amur to Aldernord, and her daughter Amat visit the di Gratiano family. Amat remains with them whilst her mother returns to Ras Amur. Kallistea is assassinated shortly thereafter by agents of the Rethis Sect.
