Cory and Callen Turned to Stone

The group continued to follow the tracks deeper into the mine.
As they passed a mine cart, the half-orc they were tracking surprised the group. A fight ensued. Although the group wanted to capture the half-orc alive, Belton dealt the killing blow that ended the half-orc’s life.
That’s when they spotted a large lizard coming at them down the tunnel. The lizard had eight legs!

As they fought the beast, they quickly realized its gaze was dangerous. Whenever they attacked the lizard, they had to gaze into its eyes which caused their skin to harden like stone.
Most of them resisted its petrifying gaze. However, just as Callen killed the creature, he and Cory both failed to resist its petrifying gaze. When the battle was over, both Cory and Callen had been turned to stone.
Weighing more than the three survivors could push or drag, they were forced to leave their petrified friends behind.
Rather than continue to Mossdale, Jeldar, Belton, and Daemar decided to journey to Neverwinter to try and find any means of restoring Cory and Callen back to their normal selves.
