Dr. Anry 'Neverwinter' Bones

Doctor Anry ‘Neverwinter’ Bones, a curious and adventurous halfling, was born into a family of renowned archaeologists. From a young age, he was captivated by the tales of lost civilizations, ancient relics, and the mysteries waiting to be uncovered throughout the Realms. It was no surprise that he would follow in his family's footsteps and become an archaeologist himself.   Growing up in the bustling city of Silverymoon, Neverwinter's childhood was filled with stories from his parents' expeditions, artifacts decorating their home, and the constant hum of excitement surrounding their discoveries. He was schooled in the city of Neverwinter, which he dearly loved, and even named himself after. In Neverwinter, he learned the arts of history, lore, and excavation techniques, learning to appreciate the value of preserving the past and unraveling its secrets.   As he reached adulthood, Neverwinter set out on his own expeditions, venturing into unexplored lands, forgotten ruins, and hidden tombs. His small stature served as an advantage, allowing him to navigate through narrow passageways and discover hidden chambers that larger explorers might overlook.   Neverwinter's passion for archaeology went beyond the thrill of discovery. He believed in the importance of understanding the past to shape the future. His studies focused on the Maztican culture, customs, and history.   In 1494 DR, Neverwinter encountered a group of adventurers looking for a guide to help them find the lost city of Omu in the jungles of Chult. He agreed, provided they first journeyed with him to find an ancient Maztican temple Neverwinter believed lay somewhere deep in the jungle.   For a while, Neverwinter's presence in the expedition proved invaluable. His knowledge of the native and Maztican language allowed him to decipher inscriptions found in the lost temple. His keen eye for detail helped the group navigate the treacherous traps they ran into as they explored the Maztican temple Neverwinter had been searching for.   In time, however, the adventurers felt that Neverwinter's services were no longer needed. He soon left the adventurers without having completely explored the Maztican temple. He returned to Port Nyanzaru and eventually made his way back to Silverymoon.   After two years, and now an archaeology professor at the prestigious University of Suzail in Cormyr, Neverwinter returned to Chult. However, the ship he was traveling on was attacked by pirates. The entire crew was killed while Neverwinter was taken prisoner to the pirate's hidden stronghold in Jahaka Bay.
