Enter Thargrin Oakenmaul
General Summary
13 Marpenoth, The Year of the Duplicitous Courtier (1496 DR)
Tomb of the Nine Gods, City of Omu, Chult
After recovering and distributing the treasure they found in Belchorzh's lair, the group, S.M.A.L.L., made their way back in the Tomb grand staircase. At the grand staircase, they saw a dwarf battling two Tomb Guardians. The dwarf, though wounded, held his own, fighting with his well-crafted glaive. "For glory and the dwarven clans!" the dwarf roared as he struck at the nearest Guardian. The creature responded with a thunderous roar, its spiked gauntleted fists swinging with incredible force. The adventuring group, S.M.A.L.L., joined the dwarf in the melee, their weapons, and spells countering the Guardians' onslaught. The battle raged on, the tomb echoing with the sounds of clashing metal and the grunts of the combatants. Eventually, both Guardians were defeated. Sein used his paladin healing to help the dwarf, who introduced himself as Thargrin Oakenmaul. He said he had traveled from the Vast, in northern Faerûn, along with his adventuring group, Vast Vanguard, to Chult in hopes of finding a lost clans-dwarf named Bravus. He said that Bravus Boulderborn, a cleric of Moradin and member of The Company of the Yellow Banner, traveled to Chult a year ago, hoping to end the Death Curse. Not having heard from Bravus nor the others from his company, the priest's clan decided to send Thargrin to Chult to find out what happened to Bravus. The adventurers told Thargrin about recently finding the remains of a dwarf who may have been Bravus. Mask showed Thargrin a yellow turban, which Thargrin said belonged to Bravus. Thargrin was saddened to learn that Bravus had died. When asked what happened to the other members of Vast Vanguard, Thargrin said they had all been killed by the tombs deadly traps and monsters. S.M.A.L.L. offered to have Thargrin join the group, as they were also on a quest to find the Soulmonger and end the Death Curse. With a new member to replace their friend, Sajen, the adventuring group, S.M.A.L.L., continued deeper into the Tomb of the Nine Gods.
