Epilogue to Death Curse: Return to the Tomb of Annihilation
General Summary
14 Marpenoth, The Year of the Duplicitous Courtier (1496 DR)
City of Omu, Chult
The adventuring group S.M.A.L.L., along with the clone of Sajen, stood outside the entrance to the Tomb of Annihilation. Moments before, they had stepped through the misty archway Acererak emerged from and found themselves back in the city of Omu. Only Baggy Nana stayed, becoming ethereal and leaving as was agreed. Two people were there to greet the members of S.M.A.L.L. Everyone recognized both of the figures. "Greetings," Lerek Dashlynd, a human man who represented the Lords' Alliance and the Harpers said. "It's good to see all of you again. We knew if anyone could put an end to the Death Curse, it would be the adventuring company, S.M.A.L.L." "Elminster?" everyone asked the other figure standing next to Larek. Most everyone in the Realms had heard of the famous wizard who was also known as the Sage of Shadowdale. It was well known he was also a chosen of Mystra, the Goddess of Magic. The bearded old man tipped the brim of his pointed hat. "Well met, adventurers," Elminster said. "You have all done a great service to the Realms and will be forever remembered for it." "That service came at a price, I'm afraid," Sein said. "We lost our wizard, Sajen, to a beholder." Lerek seemed confused at the sight of Sajen standing nearby. "He's a clone, made by a coven of night hags," Neverwinter said. "He has most of the original Sajen's memories, so in regards, he is Sajen." "Nevertheless, we destroyed the Soulmonger," Thargrin said. "And that lich, Acererak," Mask added petting his trusted companion, Dogee the blink dog. "I'm afraid, that's not true," Elminster said. "Being a powerful lich, Acererak would have placed his soul inside a phylactery and hidden it somewhere where no one could reach it. You may have destroyed his body, but not his soul. He will return someday, I'm certain of it." Everyone was both surprised and angered by what they had heard from Elminster. Lerek reminded everyone that both the Lords' Alliance and the Harpers had agreed to pay each of the adventurers a princely sum of 20,000 gold pieces and 10 acres of land anywhere between Neverwinter and Baldur's Gate as their reward for putting an end to the Death Curse. "Right now, we'd settle for a nice warm bath at an inn and a tankard of ale," Zantix said. "I can arrange for that," Elminster said. "Gather near me and I will teleport us all to the Yawning Portal in Waterdeep." The members of S.M.A.L.L. turned one last time to gaze upon the lost city of Omu, its towering spires and ancient ruins bathed in the golden light of the setting sun. They still remember sailing to Chult to begin their quest to seek out the Soulmonger four months ago. To everyone, it felt far longer. With a mixture of relief and sadness, they watched as the city faded from view as they were teleported away by the powerful magic of the sage Elminster.

DM's Note
This ends the epic adventure, Tomb of Annihilation. Where the Bastardos had failed in 1494, S.M.A.L.L. had succeeded two years later in putting an end to the Death Curse. It took over a year for the players to complete the module. They all ended the module at 12th level.
What happens next to the adventurers is up to them, but I'm sure they will continue to gain fame and fortune as heroes of the Realms.
