General Summary
25 Mirtul, The Year of The Scarlet Witch (1491 DR)
Feathergale Spire, Sumber Hills, Dessarin Valley
Before the adventurers settled down for the night, Peridot sent his familiar outside to give him a better view of the Feathergale Spire from outside.
The tower had five levels.
The lowest level had several barn doors that were closed. Peridot figured that was where the Feathergale Society housed its winged mounts, like the giant vultures.
The next three levels were composed of living quarters, a solarium, a kitchen, and the great hall where they ate and performed for the knights of the spire.
At the apex of the tower, a small lawn grew upon the top of the tower. Four paths paved with white stones pointed to the directions of the compass, each path ending in a pointed stone crenellation. At the pinnacle's edge stood a spyglass on a tripod, pointed downward.
It was clear that from this vantage point, the Feathergale Knights possessed a supreme view of all that transpired in the nearby canyon and the Sumber Hills beyond.
Before flying back down Peridot had his familiar knock over the spyglass sending toppling to the canyon floor below.
When the owl returned, it almost flew into a female aarakocra who was hovering next to the window leading into the group's room.
Back inside, Peridot went up to the window and asked the aarakocra who she was.
She introduced herself and said her name was Ori. She said she was an agent of the Emerald Enclave in the High Forest and was sent to the Dessarin Valley to investigate strange occurrences connected to elemental forces.
Ori asked if they were prisoners and if they wanted help escaping. The group said they were not prisoners or willing to fight everyone in the spire. They said they would leave in the morning and travel east toward the river in search of a monastery by a river.
Ori seemed disappointed that her help was not needed. She did offer to join the group on their journey. She added that she just came from the east and saw a structure resembling a small castle right by the river. She said she was going to visit whoever was staying at the castle, but the people in the castle started shooting at her with their crossbows. She decided it was better to leave the castle and its unfriendly occupants alone.
The group thanked Ori for her offer and said she could join them in the morning if she wanted to.
She got excited at the offer and said she would meet them in the morning. She then flew off into the night.
The group discussed their plans for the next day and then settled in for a night's rest. They felt it might be some time before they would sleep in comfortable beds again.
