Session 36: Yakfolk Village

General Summary

Was dropped off at the base of the mountain. encountered a chimera along the way up the mountainside. Greeted with open arms in the Yakfolk Village by the slave harboring yakfolk. Immediately brought to Chief Kartha Kaya who tried to poison the party, knock you unconscious, and make you slaves as well. Defeated the Chief and with the decapitated head, Ivellios convinced the rest of the yakfolk warriors to stand down. You stripped them down naked, tied their hands behind their back, and two of the elven slaves escorted them down the mountain, never to return. One of the slaves, a moon elf woman by the name of Halani Meliamne, a prisoner captured from her home tribe within the Moonwoods, told you a bit of info about the forge, Ironslag, deep below. There is a vast tunnel system of mines down below the yakfolk village. It separates the yakfolk village from the Halls of Ironslag, where Duke Zalto and the fire giants are working diligently to build the Vonidod; a giant construct of steel and adamantium that will be powered by essence of an ancient primordial, Magera the Dawn Titan. (Currently you know that the drow you previously encountered in Yartar are in transit with a magical Iron Flask that contains Magera.) Most of the physically capable men and women are sent down to work in the mines. The only way down to Ironslag is either through the mines or down the elevator, which takes 15 minutes to reach the bottom, stopping at each level of the mines along the way. There is a female rock gnome named Wiri Fleagol, who is hopefully still alive down in the mines who could potentially give you intel about the layout of Ironslag. The biggest bit of intel is that the yakfolk's sheer existence atop this mountain are to serve and feed the Fire Giants. Every morning and every evening there is a food exchange held at the top of the elevator shaft. Halani and the rest of the surviving slaves are currently staying put in the Yakfolk Village while you go down and deal with Duke Zalto and the fire giants below. Currently it is 5pm in the afternoon. The food exchange takes place around 9pm.
