Session 63: Unsuspected Discoveries

General Summary

Hitched a ride with the Adult Brass Dragon Nixia after an exchange of goods.
Crown of Eaerlan is in Wulgreth’s possession
Made your way through the incredibly thick wooded terrain
Encountered mutated Harpies
Less wooded but a bit more moist, dodged sulfuric geysers, turned into a sick swamp
Recognizing the area, Eldred escorted the party to the Stronghold of Nine, one of the main fortress and castles of Eaerlann (Eldred’s birthright).
Met the benevolent Alustriel Silverhand, the Lady of Silverymoon whom has been missing for 10 years. Apart from being an intelligent, wise, and charismatic leader, Alustriel is also very beautiful. She had warm and compassionate eyes that sparkled like a sun-dappled river and a flawless, warm face. She was just shy of six feet tall, possessed the silver hair and everlasting youth common to the rest of her sisters and was most frequently seen in public wearing light robes and carrying her unicorn-headed staff of Silverymoon.
Discovered that she is in the possession of the Titan Stone, Light’s Courage.
She has spent the past decade here in hiding, studying this relic.

Connection to Maraxax the Duke of Hell

Alustriel's sister, Laeral Silverhand, who happens to be the presiding Open Lord of Waterdeep was at the Stronghold of Nine after she recovered the Crown of Horns. It nearly drove her mad until Khelben "Blackstaff" Arusun came and freed her before it drove her entirely. After he saved her life, the two fell in love and got married. Together they founded the Moonstars which is a highly secretive group of talented individuals with the aim of unifying the humans and other races (especially elves) against the forces of evil.
Together the Moonstars, Alustriel, Laeral, and Blackstaff battled against a demon lord named Bael. Both Laeral and Blackstaff died during the battle. Later on Laeral was able to be brought back from the brink, but Blackstaff's body was never recovered which makes Alustriel suspect that he is still alive, somewhere.
Alustriel is forever grateful for Khelben because he saved her sister from the Crown of Horns, but is otherwise uneasy about him. She suspects that Blackstaff made some sort of deal with Bael to hide his identity, and summon him back to the Prime Material Plane under the guise of a new moniker, Maraxax.
Learned that Willow and Vel’s sister study at the Temple of Mystra in Waterdeep
Give them a Pokeball that captures a single dust elemental which will aid the party in their fight against Iymrith.
After leaving the Stronghold of Nine, the party progressed towards Star Mounts where they first must pass through the Shadow of the Ancients, a graveyard and final resting place for ancient dragons.
