Session 7: Harriet’s Haberdashery

General Summary

Upon leaving the Keep at Caer-Dineval, the party decided to make their way back to the Longstrider Outpost on foot to investigate further. This also provided the sled dogs ample time to recover from the frost giant-mammoth chase the day before. There at the ruins the party was able to send Olivander ahead and investigate further into a tunnel that had been inaccessible for decades, if not centuries. From a cashe within the ruins, Olivander was able to recover an ancient magical piece of armor, along with a small sapphire box. Within the box was a translucent lens, known as a Paradox Lens.   After an uneventful trek back into town, the party made their way south to continue their journey to Easthaven where rumors of a Red Wizard from the Arcane Brotherhood is scheduled to be burned at the stake the following evening. While approaching the Eastway Crossing the party saved a wandering yak that appeared to be separated from its master. After a brief encounter with a werebat that resulted in the loss of one of Morthos’ sled dogs, the crew saw a beacon of light off into the distance. As the party approached the highway crossing, they came upon a structure, visible for miles with the fields of icy nothingness that surround all four of the roads that meet here at the intersection.   A 60-foot tall natural rocky formation protrudes out from the icy tundra like a sore thumb on the southeast corner of the Eastway Crossing. Built out from the rocky landmass are five slim, round towers that are connected by giant, thick walls made from the same dark grey stone. Small windows are scattered generously across the walls in a seemingly random pattern, along with symmetric holes for archers and artillery. This castle serves as a welcoming sight and warming beacon to weary travelers who pass along the Eastway.   The party was welcomed to Harriet’s Haberdashery at the Highway Crossing, a mystical safe haven that was protected from the harsh elements of the Icewind Dale. After meeting a number of kind individuals including Balimaar York, the owner of the missing yak and proprietor of a general goods shop in Easthaven the party set out the next morning - but not before Bulwark commissioned Harriet for a custom hat!   The party set out early the next morning and safely made their way to Easthaven where they await the public execution of Dzaan the Red Wizard this evening.
