Session 8: Shrine of Savraas

General Summary

Helped the people of Paradise Valley settle into Axeholm
During the downtime Miss Gwynn helped Tobias create ammunition for the weapon he has been mapping out how to create. Syndrel did as much research as possible on the topic of White Dragons. Doc tended to and provided aid to the injured individuals. Although Xi’ing had lost the trust of the townsfolk, Betty helped her recruit and train several of the battle-capable patrons from Conyberry including the three individuals that traveled from Phandalin to Axeholm with Xi’ing:

• Ace - Big male human with tattoos
• Sturgil Winston - Older male halfling with a bow
• Miranda Cross - Young human female with staff

Two days after arriving at Axeholm TownmasterHarbin summoned everyone for a dinner in the Hall of Valor. The higher ranking officials of Phandalin gathered and discussed the party’s next moves.

Dinner Party

Linny Greywind was in attendance and had returned with Sister Garaele. She reported that Leilon was similarly attacked nearly a week ago by the white dragon and Stone Cold Reavers. It turned out that she did not flee Phandalin, rather she was following the guidance of her patron, Avandra. Her patron had given her a vision of Leilon being destroyed which provoked her to go there to help them prepare for the impending attack. The attack happened a tenday after she arrived. Had she not given them a warning, the town would have likely been completely destroyed.
Getting down to brass tax, Harbin told the party to seek out Falcon the Hunter. He knows the Neverwinter Woods better than anyone and could help them hunt down the orcs that had been ravaging the countryside, most recently Leilon. To his knowledge, the orc attacks and the dragon attacks are unrelated.

Phandalin Militia

The party spent the better part of a tenday within Axeholm, during that time Tobias crafted his special firearm. Before leaving Axeholm, they helped the militia train by taking them on a Chimera Hunt.

Chimera Battle

With the horses previously purchased from Linny, they made the 2-day trip west towards Conyberry, specifically to the Shrine of Savraas to recover the bell, which would supposedly cure Xi’ing from her curse.
Made it there after nightfall, where they found a large band of orcs and ogres While there, saw Grannoc but magic compelled her to run away. The party was able to dispatch the orcs and ogres that had made camp there who were seemingly guarding the golden bell. The bell was set up in a fashion that looked as if it was siphoning the energy from the surrounding forest.
Before the assault Betty found a flute, Pan’s Flute, an item that she hadn’t seen since she was just a young hatchling. The flute belonged to her imaginary friend that she hadn’t seen in over 100 years. This flute helped them tremendously in the battle against orcs and ogres.

Shrine of Savraas

While investigating the bell tower, in the dark of night Tobias noticed a massive thunderstorm brewing far to the north. He also noticed another warband, this one much larger heading south towards the shrine.
Avoiding conflict, the party left to reunite with their horses and rode north towards Falcon’s Lodge until they reached the southern border of Neverwinter Wood.
