The Adventures of the RagTags and their Glorious Bardic Leader Ivellios Brightwood Esquire

Autobiography by Ivellios Brightwood Esquire

The ballad/novel would talk about how a brave bard named Ivellios dragged his troll like speechless companion Eldrena who would communicate with grunts and pelvic thrusts in the direction he wanted to go to. They eventually ended up in Waterdeep where they found three homeless looking men who were in an alleyway preaching about the end of the world.   Ivellios, taking pity on them, decided to uplift them and see if what they were saying was true. But his idiot troll like companion decided to try and cast a spell on a shopkeep. He was quick to diffuse the situation by explaining how he was taking them on an epic quest and they needed the favor. The shopkeep gracely accepted the answer and rewarded the group with ancient giant relics.   Bullybar, Zefil, and Aloof Dragon boy set about to venture with the bard and Eldrena. It was hard. They met many perils and Vel goes into detail about the adventures they had such as the yak village, the war they fought to save Yartar, the loss of companions, fighting a fire giant and defeating him flawlessly. It also talks about how during their adventures they gained more allies.   Folgers was the most beautiful dwarf he had met. While he thought he was courageous she put him to shame by diving head first into the action and even trying to take an anchor from a storm giant and toss it at him. Every day he tried to win her affection but she’d shrug him off saying he was ‘little boy, not man’.   It also mentions how they traveled to another world of horror and gore where the group almost broke to a vampire and a flamboyant devil. But it goes into great detail about the sweetest and purest woman they have ever met. Willow. How she stayed trap in this vampiric lair but never lost who she was inside. And more so how he felt like a failure for never having noticed her before.   The second half of the novel becomes more somber. The names begin to change as do the adventures when they start to realize how much weight and pressure of the world is on them. Eldred the lost soul who has been through trauma and tragedy yet still has the courage and will power to go on. A true friend that Ivellios never deserved. Bolivar, the mighty paladin who has the will of the Goddess he worships. How Vel wishes he had half his drive. Zephyr, the man that can escape any death. How he has had the claws of a God in his soul but still managed to always push forward. Willow. The fiery red head who had every right to turn and go back home but decided to stick it out with her friends. Olga. War, a lost of a husband, a sick mama, and half of Vel’s size. But larger than life then he ever would be. A woman that would jump through an ancient blue dragon’s mouth to save you.   And then there was the supposed main character Ivellios Brightwood. Aloof. Simplistic. Greedy. Never growing when all his companions had earned their proper titles as heroes. Champions of Faerun. How could he call himself a leader when he couldn’t save anyone? A father that had abandoned him and nearly killed his friends. A Storm Giant King that had befriended them and he let die. He should have done better. He could have done better. Yet he never did. His biggest regret was never being the leader he could have been and the friend he should have been.   The ballad/novel goes into great, a bit embellished, detail about the glorious battle that took place between this group of adventurers when they battled two adult blue dragons and an ancient blue dragon AT THE SAME TIME. How the Storm Giant King came to assist them and how he fell. And in the end, his friends rallied and defeated the bad guys to become the champions of small folk and giant folk. The novel/ballad ends with the group eyeing a giant black storm with a corrupted giant in the center of it extending a hand out. But Ivellios is not mentioned anymore and it is mainly the group there to take on the challenge.
