Barislav of Fidelis

Barislav was taken from among Novun raiders that gave birth to him while the raiders camped in Herelin lands. His mother supposedly didn't know she was with child when she sailed to Herelin shores to raid. Barislav was immediately sensed by temple knights to have the power of invocation within him and he was raised by temple clergy during his childhood. 
He, however, suffered from the same conditions most of his people have inherited. Despite the temple's best efforts to train him and suppress the power of the void within him, he suffers from fits of blind fury that the novun are known for. In his teens he lost himself to a bout of rage and crippled one of the temple squires who to this day walks with a cane. 
His master and even his victim had compassion for him and knew he had great sorrow over what he did. They interceded for him to the temple authorities and persuaded them from the sentence of execution. Barislav was sentenced instead to a life of temple service and city arrest and now works and owns a lucrative shop (Barislav's Iron.) His skill as a blacksmith is unrivaled and no doubt influenced the temple clergy's decision when sentencing him to temple service. 
He wears vestinite chains around his ankles that make him capable of walking comfortably but not running and most importantly he wears a ravenwood collar around his neck that prevents him from invoking or allowing the power of the void to run through his body.
