Kyper

The kyper are a race of bipedal insectoid creatures that reach the height of men when full grown. They are known for their ability to lay eggs in corpses, which hatch into swarms of aggressive, blood-sucking locusts. They are attracted to blood and flesh, and will attack any living creature that comes too close.
They are equipped with powerful venom they inject into their prey that enables them to carry the paralyzed victim back to the colony. But this alone is not what makes them one of the most feared and renown predators of Herelin. They will sometimes lay their eggs in those that are brought back to the colony alive.
When the locusts hatch inside the captured person, they use the body as a living nest while they grow, slowly eating the person from the inside.  While the kyper larva are inhabiting the body, they flood the system with chemicals that overwhelm the victim with their paternal instincts, desires and willpower slip away until they become compulsively obsessed with tending to the hive until death.
