Malevolent: The Compelled

The term "compelled" is actually derived from the behavior and mannerisms associated with people who have become corrupted by the malevolent plague. Once infected, the compelled will seek out the malevolent, who often use them as as craftsmen or even infiltrators before their sickness becomes too obvious. The constant, slow exposure to the taint drives these souls to turn on their fellow captives, cannibalizing them whilst in the grips of maddening pain. Humanoids develop symptoms such as fever and itchiness. Eventually, the disease progresses to the point where the body becomes degraded and misshapen by the corruption. The compelled start to lose clumps of hair, flesh, and develop purulent sores. Given enough time, a deterioration will eventually lead to death. Such individuals are ready to become buried and stored away where the disease will be given enough time to turn their corpses into a mature malevolent form.
