Malevolent: Visionary

The Malevolent Visionary is a cunning and ruthless creature. It has beady eyes that seem to glow with an inner malice and a twisted, jagged-toothed grin that always seems to be plastered on his face. This creature seems to function as a scout for the malevolent and is a master of traversing terrain, able to move through any landscape with the grace and fluidity of a panther. The plague seems to have warped the body to have features such as padded hands that help it climb walls and gills to help it survive under water for a short time. It can scale sheer cliffs, dart through dense forests, and traverse treacherous swamps without breaking a sweat. Its keen senses allow it to spot even the smallest detail in his surroundings, giving him the advantage he needs to outmaneuver his enemies.   In battle, the Visionary uses his agility to his advantage, darting in and out of combat, striking from the shadows, and using hit-and-run tactics to take down his opponents. He carries a variety of weapons, including a short sword and a wickedly curved dagger, and is skilled in both ranged and melee combat.   These sinister creatures have been seen prowling the perimeter of mortal settlements or fortifications before disappearing back into the wilderness. The ultimate fate of the visionary is to return to the malevolent camp to offer it’s head to be split open and it’s brain to be eaten by an the alpha malevolent. Their knowledge and experience of how to traverse and find the human area is then transferred to the creature that ate its brain. This is usually where the malevolent proselyte leads the horde through that course to initiate their attack. Being stealthy and agile little creatures the Alpha Visionaries can also serve as bodyguards and assassins of high ranking proselytes.

Feats:   Shrouded step (Recharge 5–6). The visionary gains brief invisibility and lightened wieight, along with any equipment it is wearing or carrying, to an unoccupied space it can see within 40 feet of itself. If it reappears behind a target, it will deal 1d12 of piercing damage. The target must make a dexterity saving throw of 11 and takes half damage on a succesful throw.    Water breathing: The Visionary can breath underwater   Evolved escapist: The Visionary can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check. It invokes a violent torrent of wind when it climbs, preventing a flying character from taking to the air to pursue it.   Multi Attack: makes three dagger attacks.   Actions: Malevolent daggers. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 2) Necrotic damage.   Shortbow: 1d6 + 2 piercing.
