Doh'garan Archers
The draconic archers used exclusively by Doh'garus. They are not nearly as accurate as the Brimbarian archers, but the effective range, and sheer impact from their bows is in the extreme. They use the draconic thunder bow with its five-hundred-pound draw. They send their bolts through walls, shields, and shield walls with ease.
Composition
Manpower
This unit is small, but effective. Only about one hundred fifty archers operate within their ranks. Each one is extremely deadly alone, or in a group.
Equipment
They bear no armor to keep their load light, and to allow free range of movement. Each archer is equipped with a little ring with incription, and decription instructions for any messages that must be left for another squad.
Weaponry
Their most famous weaponry is the draconic thunder bow, with its five hundred thirty pound draw. It can easily glide through walls, and shields. Each one comes equipd with a long sword for if a foe gets too close.
Structure
The one hundred fifty draconic archers are divided into either lances of four, or squads of six. Each squad is led by one draconin. They are identified by the segmented armor on their left shoulder.
Tactics
The archers use gurila tactics to fight their battles. They mostly operate in urban environments, or in areas where they can gain the high ground at a distance. They often leave the rest to the siegebreakers.
Training
The training is that which you'd expect. They are assesed in way of skill, and are trained to increase their upper body strength ntil they can muster the two hundren pound draw. Once they can do so, they are trained on advanced archery until they can reliably hit their target at a great distance. Once they have skill second only to the elves, they are officially granted membership of a squad of their own.
History
They were founded during the first Hoedar-Doh'garus war. Their purpose was to cause havok, and strike important targets so the Siegebreakers could make their strike. Thats not to say they couldn't make their own strikes. If they get the high ground, they can effectively hammer the enemy into the ground with minimal effort. This is why they prefer urban strikes, as the rooftops provide them with their needed high ground.
They were the primary strike force for Dogarus in the massive three way war between Dogaus, Heodar, and Brimbaria. Now, they are preparing for a potential war between Doh'garus, and Fafnia.
Historical loyalties
They are loyal only to Doh'garus, and its people, though if one of Doh'garus allies were to call, they'd answer.
